A group of Burger King employees in Ohio were recently given the heave ho after a video surfaced on My Space.com showing one of the employees taking a bubble bath in one of the restaurant’s sinks.  The remaining employees are undergoing retraining in health and sanitation procedures.

  Now granted, I would never think of taking a bath at work simply because we don’t have a sink big enough and I am a shower person anyway.  I have petitioned to one day have an office with shower facilities or at least a garden hose.  If they want to install a large sink to bathe in, I guess I don’t have a problem with that.    

Videotaping yourself doing something stupid is never a good idea.  I have blogged on this topic numerous times.  Whether your celebrity porno tape gets released or you have an affair with your videographer, video and nekkedness  are never a good combination.  However in this case, I find it a little hard to be offended.  They talked about how they sanitized the sink and all of the utensils.  I will admit that I didn’t watch the entire video because I have a short attention span and probably wouldn’t have been able to get through it without watching something else.  That being said, the guy is taking a bath.  Isn’t hygiene one of the cornerstones of the fast food industry?  Aren’t there signs in most bathrooms saying, “All employees must wash their hands before going back to work?”  This guy was probably the cleanest employee in the restaurant.  Instead of firing him they should have given him employee of the month for going the extra mile.   

OK I decided to watch the video so I could thoroughly research my topic and the thing has been deleted from the link.  What gives?   Is there a conspiracy or what?  I don’t feel bad for this guy though.  In a world where people are rewarded for doing dumb things, I’m sure this guy will enjoy his fifteen minutes of fame and then some.  He will probably get a reality show out of it.
